Watching out for the neighbourhood

Check your head

It’s crow fledging season, which means dive-bombing crow parents are out in full force. The crow family that had been waking me up every morning had one chick this year, and I think it’s out in the world being a crow teenager now. I suspect it’s the same set of parents that had three babies last year (which involved so much squawking, but also adorable flying lessons with awkward landings in plum trees).

If a crow starts to hassle you, relax: it’s not personal. Unless you gave them a hard time once and they see your jerk face again, in which case: it’s totally personal. Crows can remember people and they will hold a grudge.
